The Denver-based Italian concept is opening its Frisco location in late May, with a dozen more to follow in the area, franchise owner Carlos Smith said.
Frisco, TX (RestaurantNews.com) Mici Italian, the fast-casual Italian franchise, is gearing up to open the brand’s first Texas store in Frisco. Doors will open in early July at 8244 FM 423, Suite 400, Frisco, Texas.
This exciting news is just the start of the Colorado restaurant chain’s expansion plans. Carlos Smith, the franchise owner of the future Frisco location, plans to develop a dozen locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. He hopes the establishments will be operational soon enough, because he is delighted to be the brand’s first Texan franchisee.
“I saw the opportunity for growth with the company and decided to bring it to Dallas, where I think it’s going to do really well,” Smith said. “We plan to open our second location in late November or December of this year, and then our third by July 2023. Over the next five years, we hope to open 10 to 15 more.”
The Mici team appreciates Smith’s commitment and dedication to brand expansion efforts.
“He really jumps on his feet and has a level of energy and a passion for taking care of people, whether they’re employees or customers,” said Co-founder Jeff Miceli. “We’re thrilled to have him, and we’re really excited to support him and take off from here.”
Smith sees great potential for the Italian fast-casual chain in the region, which is booming with population growth. Mici is a great place to feed the whole family, with delicious pizzas and dishes made from the founders father’s homemade recipes.
“I think it’s going to do well because Mici is known for being family friendly, kid friendly, small and quaint. The combination of fast food and quality appeals to families,” Smith said.
Mici is also expanding into other states, with a multi-brand franchise Lucas Farnham signing of a 30-unit agreement for the Phoenix, Arizona area. He is getting ready to open the first ones soon, and a store in Troy, Michigan will soon be available under a 25-unit development agreement. The brand is excited about the opportunities to reach more of the country.
“Our multi-unit agreements will allow us to catch fire in record time”, Mici Italian CEO Elliot Schiffer said. “Targeting the right franchisees is important to us, and our scale investors have provided quality insights that will allow us to continue to build brand responsibility.”
