The restaurant industry has struggled during the pandemic, with many closing their doors forever. Fortunately, this is not the case for all restaurants, as evidenced by the famous Turkey Leg Hut.

Founded by Lynn and Nakia Price, the restaurant owners could be spotted spending their Christmas Day offering 500 delicious meals to those in need. The owners said they simply wanted to give back to a community that had supported them during the pandemic. They serve as a role model for all small business owners who want to succeed as the pandemic enters another year.

The pandemic crushes the restaurant industry

The coronavirus pandemic has harmed individuals, families and small businesses around the world; however, it particularly affected the restaurant industry. With many restaurants deemed non-essential businesses and countless people deciding not to go out in public, the restaurant industry was struggling to make ends meet.

Additionally, some believed that the restaurant industry was on the verge of on the verge of collapse. However, the reality is that restaurants are the lifeblood of local communities. They provide a place to gather, employ countless people, and support local farmers and stores.

The Turkey Leg Hut knew it had to find another way to run its business in order to survive. As a result, they have focused on supporting a local community that has given them so much.

Initially, the Turkey Leg Hut, founded in 2015, was a way for Lynn and Nakia Price to come home. Their goal was to give back to the community that supported their family through difficult times. Instead, a few years later, they were greeted by the pandemic. They needed to find another way to run the business and decided to make it mobile while focusing on the restaurant’s roots.

They focused on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, drawing millions of people every year. The family looked at the countless stalls selling food and decided this was the best option for their restaurant. They seized on the African-American culture, set up a stand themselves and decided to offer delicious turkey legs to whoever wanted it.

Immediately they were shocked at the level of support they received. Considering how the community has gathered around the turkey leg hut during the pandemic, they decided they wanted to do something good for the local community by providing a bunch of dinners.

The importance of sticking together during the coronavirus pandemic

Overall, the purpose of the Awards has been to be a blessing to others, just as the community has been a blessing to them. They donated 500 of their turkey legs and pounds of fresh beef from Price Farm. They even gave money to families who needed it. Christmas.

While many people were shocked at the level of generosity, this is far from the first time the family has done this. They gave away nearly 10,000 turkey legs at their famous Thanksgiving events.

The family achieved their goal. They have been a blessing to the local community. They might have big expansion plans at their current location at the Daquiri Hut! During the pandemic, restaurateurs need to be generous, hurry, and say thank you. The prices more than did that.
